Claudia Chavarro manages New Leaf Counseling Services and with her years of experience and education she is able to provide individual and group therapeutic services to help her clients.
Prior to New Leaf Counseling Services, Claudia gained experience by leading substance abuse groups for a local rehabilitation center and has work with children and families in one of the major local children and family agencies. She has obtained excellent training in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment plan process through her academic programs, internship and work experience.

Aside from her academic requirements, she was able to learn from her years of volunteer work with the Guardian Ad Litem where she enjoyed advocating for children in Jacksonville, FL. She also completed an observership at UF Health that allowed her to learn from postdoctoral residents as they assessed and treated patients with traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, and patients who presented with co-morbid psychiatric illnesses. In both of these settings she gained experience in promoting adaptive coping skills, crisis management, and grief counseling.
She has met all the requirements of the laws and rules of the state of Florida and with her educational, clinical, and work experience, she will provide exceptional professional services in order to support and guide you through your therapeutic journey .
